Liberian Credit Union National Association

Liberia Credit Union National Association (LCUNA) is the Apex body of Credit Unions in Liberia with the mandate to support the growth and development of credit unions across Nation. We as a financial cooperative, supports the development of Credit Unions so as to enable them provide valuable and sustainable financial services to their members. LCUNA is affiliated to African Confederation Of Cooperative Savings and Credit (A.C.C.O.S.C.A) and the World Council of Credit Unions (W.O.C.C.U). After the war, LCUNA has been working assiduously to positively impact the economy of Liberia by empowering her Credit Unions.

History of LCUNA

LCUNA was Founded in 1966 in Maryland County in Liberia through the guidance of Father Ted Hayden and Bishop Boniface Dallieh of the Catholic Church. In 1969 LCUNA was officially recognized, and it was accredited in 1973 by the Ministry of Agriculture.

LCUNA Governance

LCUNA is governed by a Board of Directors of 9, a supervisory committee of 3 and a management team of 10 persons. The Board provides oversight and ensures LCUNA meets minimum regulatory standards and good governance practices while the supervisory committee ensures Board and Management compliance to set standards.
